Program Director, entra 21

Employability Center

Center Mission: Improve young people’s employment, entrepreneurial, and personal skills for engagement in productive work.

PURPOSE:
Coordinate activities within the Employability Center and provide assistance to IYF’s network of partners in Latin America/Caribbean.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide technical, operational, programmatic and administrative support to the entra 21 program and perform specific tasks as delegated by the Program Director.
  2. Coordinate financial, grant management, operational, programmatic and administrative activities within the entra 21 team, the grantees and the Finance,
  3. Administration and IT Department.
  4. Responsible for ensuring the timely receipt, approval and processing of contracts and grants and the approval and processing of disbursements accordingly.
  5. Coordinate production of entra 21 publications under guidance of Learning Director and Manager, including incorporation of final edits, coordination of activities with the Graphic Designer, and coordination of dissemination activities.
  6. Maintain content of the entra 21 portions (English and Spanish) of the IYF website. Maintain program electronic files and program mailing lists.
  7. Provide translation of Spanish into English when needed.
  8. Organize events planned by Program, regional conferences and dissemination workshops, including logistics, invitations, project planning, consultant agreements, briefing material preparation, follow-up and reimbursements.
  9. Provide administrative assistance to entra 21 staff and handle all aspects of scheduling for team as delegated, including flights, lodging, meetings, and securing visas and other appropriate travel documents.
  10. Provide programmatic, operational, and administrative support to Prepárate Program Manager and Peru Field Office Staff.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Working experience or knowledge of youth development, economics and/or social development is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Spanish are required.

Ability to exercise discretion and makes independent judgments, assumes responsibility, and work independently with minimal direction.

Well organized, ability to prioritize and plan work activities and attend to all details in a professional manner.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Communications skills must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with a broad array of cultures and languages.

Excellent time management, organizational, and computer software skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
